Abacus POS Opening Procedure
1. Opening the Register
- Log in to the Abacus POS system.
- Use the keypad to enter the amount of cash in the register (your float).
- Tap OPEN.
- Depending on your system setup:
- If Restaurant Mode is enabled, you'll be directed to the Table Map.
- If Restaurant Mode is disabled, you'll be taken to the Point of Sale screen.

2. Opening the Cash Drawer
- Ensure you are logged in as a manager or admin.
- Tap the printer icon at the top of the POS screen.
- Select OPEN to open the cash drawer.

3. Viewing Open Drawer History
The Open Drawer History report keeps track of every time the cash drawer is opened manually (using the OPEN function).
To access the report:
- Go to Reports on the backend system.
- Select Open Drawer History.
Note: The report does not include times the drawer is automatically opened for cash transactions.
