Redeeming Gift-IT gift vouchers in Lightspeed Retail
Currently Lightspeed Retail and Gift-IT are not integrated however there is a simple process for redeeming vouchers on the Lightspeed Retail POS and via the Gift-IT portal that you can follow.
After a Gift Voucher is sold, the customer comes in and presents the voucher during the checkout phase of the sale. The steps you should follow are:
1) on your iPad swap from the Lightspeed Retail app or website to your Gift-IT portal, Log in and Select 'Redeem' from the left hand menu.
2) Enter the Reference Code of the voucher that the customer has present and the value ($) and select redeem. This draws down on the balance of the voucher so the credit is no longer available to use. Partial redemptions are no problem.
3) Return to Lightspeed Retail and complete the sale using the 'Gift Cards' payment field. Simply enter the value here which should match to what you have drawn down in the previous step. If you are missing a gift card or Gift-IT option you can
4) Go in to Settings > Payment Types and Add a New Payment Type called Gift-IT with refund as gift cards.
