QR ordering allows customers to scan a code and be taken directly to your online store. With a simple setup, you can also control which menu is displayed when they scan a specific QR code. This is useful if you have different menus such as dine-in, takeaway, or delivery, and want customers to land on the correct one straight away.
Using separate QR codes helps:
Direct customers to the right menu instantly
Reduce confusion between order types
Improve the overall ordering experience
Minimise the need for staff assistance
For example, you might have:
One QR code on tables for dine-in
Another at the counter for takeaway
Make sure:
Online ordering is active
Your menus are already created
Multiple order types is disabled
Copy your store link
Go to Online Ordering > Publishing, then copy your store URL.
Modify the link
Paste the URL into your browser and add ?menu=MenuName at the end.
Example:
https://ou.abacus.co/en/Store/5115624/?menu=AnggaRestaurant
Check the menu name. Let say we will create this Dine in menu QR.
Make sure:
There are no spaces on the menu name (e.g. “Dine In” becomes DineIn)
The capital letters match exactly
No symbols are used
Test the link
Open the updated URL in your browser and confirm it loads the correct menu.
Create the QR code
Use any QR code generator, paste the updated link, and generate your QR code.
Label each QR code clearly so customers know which menu they are accessing
Place QR codes in the right locations (tables, counter, takeaway area)
Always test before sharing with customers
