Tyro Pro is Tyro’s latest EFTPOS device featuring a full touchscreen, built-in printer, and support for integrated POS payments. Below is an overview of the physical components on the Tyro Pro device.

How to Integrate Tyro Pro with Abacus POS
Follow the steps below to integrate your Tyro Pro terminal with Abacus POS.

Step 1: Access Operating Mode on Tyro Pro

  1. On the Tyro Pro terminal, tap the menu button on the top left corner.



  1. Select Operating Mode.

  2. Enter your admin password.

  3. Choose Select Operating Mode.

  4. Select Integrated mode.


Step 2: Retrieve MID and TID

Once Integrated mode is selected:

  • The MID (Merchant ID) and TID (Terminal ID) will be displayed on the Tyro Pro screen.

  • Take note of these details.


Step 3: Enter MID & TID in Abacus POS

  1. Go to Abacus POS.

  2. Navigate to Settings → Payment → Tyro.

  3. Enter the MID and TID exactly as shown on the Tyro Pro terminal.


Step 4: Authorise the Integration

  1. From Abacus POS, tap Authorise.

  2. Follow the on-screen prompts displayed on the Tyro Pro terminal.

  3. Once completed, the Tyro Pro will be fully integrated with Abacus POS.




After Integration

  • Payments initiated from Abacus POS will be sent directly to the Tyro Pro terminal.

  • Transaction results will automatically sync back to the POS.
