Adjust the Order of Categories on Printing Dockets

You can control the order that item categories appear on your production dockets. This is useful to ensure your kitchen or bar receives dockets in a logical flow (for example: food first, then drinks, or by station).


How to Set the Category Print Order

  1. Go to Print Settings in your Back Office.

  2. Select Category Print Order.

  3. Drag and drop the categories into the order you want them to print on production dockets and do Master sync from the Master POS. 


Enable Sorted by Category in POS

To make sure the categories print in the order you set:

  1. Go to the dropdown menu > Abacus POS Settings.

  2. Turn on the setting:

    C.10. ITEMS PRINT MODE → SORTED BY CATEGORY


Important Notes

  • This setting only affects production dockets (items sent to kitchen/bar).

  • It does not change the order of items on bills or customer receipts.

  • Make sure to sync your POS after making changes to ensure the new order applies.
