Customizing Customer Facing Display Screen

Setting Up Banners on the Customer-Facing Display


Banners are displayed on the right side of the order screen to help promote products or show branding visuals.
Example: 


Steps: 

  1. Log in to the Abacus backend (app.abacus.co).

  2. Go to POS > POS Settings > Customer-Facing Display (Customer Screen Settings).

  3. Click New Item.

  4. Enter a name for the banner (for your own reference).

  5. Under Type, select Banner.

  6. Click Upload and select your banner image file.


Recommended banner specifications:

  • Size: 498px (W) × 250px (H)

  • Maximum file size: 500KB

  • File name: Do not use spaces. Use underscores or hyphens instead (e.g. My_banner).

  1. Repeat the steps above to upload up to three banner images.

  2. To apply the changes, go to the Customer-Facing Display and press Login to re-sync the settings.


Setting Up Screensavers/Video on the Customer-Facing Display


Screensavers display a slideshow of images or videos when the Customer-Facing Display is idle (no active orders).

Steps

  1. Log in to the Abacus backend (app.abacus.co).

  2. Go to POS > POS Settings > Customer-Facing Display (Customer Screen Settings).

  3. Click New Item.

  4. Enter a name for the screensaver image or video (for your own reference).

  5. Under Type:

    • Select Video to upload a video (with sound)

    • Select Screensaver to upload an image

  6. Click Upload and select your screensaver file.


Recommended file specifications:


For images:

  • Standard iPad: 2048 × 1536

  • iPad Pro: 2732 × 2048

  • iPad Mini: 1024 × 768

  • Maximum image file size: 1MB


For videos:

  • Maximum video file size: 5MB

  1. Repeat the steps above to complete your screensaver setup.

  2. On the Customer-Facing Display, press Login to re-sync your settings.
